Partner

A service offered with our committed partner UMAY

A French partnership dedicated to supporting families

To develop The Phone Géo, we chose to partner with UMAY, the leading French app for safer everyday travel.

For several years,...

For several years, UMAY has been helping its users in their daily journeys through location tools, alert features, and a network of more than 8,500 Safe Places identified locations where anyone can find help if they feel unsafe. Today, more than 200,000 users trust UMAY to support them during their journeys, outings, or travels.

Our partnership felt like an obvious fit.

On one side, UMAY works to make travel safer. On the other, The Phone supports families who want to protect their children from the effects of hyperconnectivity while gradually giving them more independence.

We share the same belief: technology should be useful, reassuring, and respectful of its users.

A different approach to location

With The Phone Géo, we chose an on-demand location service.

Parents can check the phone’s location when they need to, without constant tracking and without turning the phone into a surveillance tool. The child is informed of this possibility and keeps a simple, calm experience with their phone.

To make this possible, we developed a dedicated architecture tailored to the The Phone universe.

Our goal was clear: to preserve the promise of a protected phone, with no open internet, no app store, and no exposure to digital uses that can distract children.

We also chose a location solution that is independent from the Google services usually used on standard smartphones. This means location data is used exclusively to provide the service expected by families and is not used to feed third-party advertising or commercial purposes.

A first step

This partnership marks a first step between UMAY and The Phone.

We are already working on new initiatives designed to support families in their travel, digital autonomy, and everyday safety.

Because helping a child grow also means helping them gradually gain freedom, within a framework suited to their age.

Protect children from hyperconnectivity and its consequences

First phone, first step toward independence

When your child starts going to school alone, visiting friends, or taking public transport, you naturally look for a way to reach them and ensure their safety.

But between “no phone” and a “fully featured smartphone,” there is another way.

A few key figures to understand the stakes:

4 hours and 11 minutes of average screen time

50% of young people on social media before the age of 13

Increased risks of cyberbullying and inappropriate content

The solution to support this step: The Phone

Faced with the risks of hyperconnectivity, many parents are looking for a healthier alternative to smartphones for their children.

That’s why The Phone was created.
A phone without internet, designed to support their first steps toward independence without exposing them to distractions or inappropriate content.

Key benefits:

No internet or social media: to protect your child

No parent control needed

Modern & touchscreen design: discreet and user-friendly

A simple phone to communicate, without exposing them.

A French design thought for children (and big children)

The Phone is unlike the simple phones of yesteryear. It was designed to appeal to children… and reassure parents! With its soft lines, cheerful colors, and practical design, it's sure to be used every day. Designed to meet demanding ethical standards, The Phone focuses on quality, simplicity, and reliability.

Five ringtones available and several wallpapers in clever colors that appeal to children: Sky Blue, Halloween Black, Cosmos Blue, Polar White and Raspberry Pink.

Strong, practical…

Its 4-inch touchscreen, well protected and surrounded by rounded edges, is integrated into a solid and lightweight recycled aluminum casing.

Materials selected for their durability

Our design philosophy opposes the planned obsolescence that characterizes the smartphone industry. With its easily replaceable battery, unlike most modern devices, The Phone is built to last.

Ergonomics designed for intuitive and comfortable use

The Phone's grip has been optimized through extensive anthropometric studies, allowing for extended comfort and fatigue-free use, whether you're right- or left-handed. Its weight of 162 grams offers a perfect balance between strength and lightness.
