Partner

A service offered with our dedicated partner UMAY

A French partnership serving families

To develop The Phone Géo, we chose to partner with UMAY, the leading French app for travel safety.

For several years, ...

For several years, UMAY has been supporting its users in their daily commutes with geolocation and alert tools, and a network of over 8,500 Safe Places – identified locations where anyone can find help if they feel unsafe. Today, over 200,000 users trust UMAY to accompany them during their commutes, outings, or travels.

Our meeting was an obvious match.

On one hand, UMAY works to make travel safer. On the other, The Phone supports families who want to protect their children from the effects of hyper-connectivity while gradually giving them more autonomy.

We share the same conviction: technology must be useful, reassuring, and respectful of its users.

Geolocation designed differently

With The Phone Géo, we have opted for on-demand geolocation.

Parents can find the phone's location when they need it, without permanent tracking and without turning the phone into a surveillance tool. The child is informed of this possibility and maintains a simple and peaceful use of their phone.

To achieve this, we have developed a specific architecture adapted to The Phone universe.

Our goal was clear: to keep the promise of a protected phone, without open internet, without an app store, and without exposure to digital uses that can distract children.

We also chose a geolocation solution independent of the Google services typically used on classic smartphones. Location data is therefore used exclusively to provide the service expected by families and is not used to feed third-party advertising or commercial uses.

A first step

This partnership marks a first step between UMAY and The Phone.

We are already working on new initiatives designed to support families in their travels, digital autonomy, and daily safety.

Because helping a child grow also means allowing them to gradually gain freedom, within a framework adapted to their age.
